Are you confused?

You may, or may not, have noticed that I put Life In The Second Half back up. The reason I did this is because of the following, and the desire to write an e-book based on many of the posts I did over the last 3.5 years. It was suggested that one needs to sell the books by blogging, etc. Google picks up Life because it was Blog of Note. It has many followers, most from other countries, strangely, and I felt I should keep it until I can see where I can go with e-publishing.

I am going to keep this personal blog, however. I feel exposed on Life, and would prefer to have a place I can go that I am just around friends that I feel like I "know." Does that make sense?

Hopefully the hacker will move on and won't find me a target. I've never done anything to him, but I'm not sure my friend has either.

  1. So far my menopause brain has managed to keep up. Only just though. :)

  2. I will look forward to the e-book.

It makes one ponder the consequences of fame, it is all about exposure isn't it.

  5. I have been glad not to have been singled out as a Blog of Note, which has made many blogs change in ways that are not always positive. Numbers of followers used to be important to me, but now not so much, since I follow 85 blogs and it's everything I can do to keep up! And two from you, Nancy, I'll stay on both!

  6. DJan is a loyal interactive follower. Love her sentiments.

Good for you Nancy! My husband is trying to get me to start a new blog or integrate my two into one and write another one or something. He thinks I've lost "thrill". I think I don't stay focused in a category in WomenofCertainAge, e.g. politics? women? family? and perhaps it dilutes its effectiveness although I have many many more visitors there than EmptyNestEvolution. sigh.

  7. DJan - Being Blog of Note does not mean you are a better writer, I don't think, than everyone else. But it does help if you want to write and sell a book, which has been a lifelong dream of mine. When I deleted Life, there was almost a relief. I could then start with another blog and really know who was reading. However, the very first thing Smashwords said about marketing an e-book was to try to guest post on someones blog, start a blog, or something to that effect. Being a Blog of Note meant Google goes right to my blog if you Goggle it. I had just deleted what I would need to market the book. So it can help in certain instances. But having a great number of followers was never my intent when I started to blog in the first place. That's why I want to keep this one. I like to know who is reading and have a personal interaction with those people.

California - You are a wonderful writer. Insightful and articulate. Having one blog for people to go to is much easier for them. I have a hard time following both blogs for most people. But that being said, both of yours are interesting and I look forward to whatever you write. Same goes for DJan's two blogs.

  8. So glad for you Nancy that you'll be doing a life long dream by publishing a book... ebook, whatever, it's still something you will have written and others will purchase. Keep us informed as to timelines, etc. as I, personally, don't want to miss it.

BTW, I love your blog title!
